Carter Scott Ward was born November 7, 2011 at 12:06 pm via csection. he weighed in at 8 lbs 13 oz and was 20 inches long, a pretty big guy, but not as big as the ultrasound last week said he was measuring at (9 lbs 10 oz). mommy and baby are both doing very well. Daddy is so proud to have a little boy. and Alix is in love with her baby! she tries to comfort him when he cries and she likes to fist bump him since his hands are always balled up. welcome to the world little guy!
on friday night, October 28 we had our ward's trunk or treat. since Alix is too young still to care about real trick or treating and i'm too pregnant to take her out we went to the church and she trick or treated from classroom to classroom. she was dorothy from the wizard of oz, complete with her little basket and toto dog. Erika was her buddy the tin [wo]man.
and of course Carter and i had to dress up. we were a mama and baby skeleton :P
i will be having Carter on monday via csection because at an ultrasound on tuesday he was measuring 9 lbs 10 oz!!! here's a couple pics from that ultrasound and one of my ever growing belly!
and Erika and i got a little bored on thursday so we got out the finger paint and had some fun. here's the resulting pics from that :)
this year for our Ward Family vacation we rented a beach house on Kiwanda shores in Oregon for a few days. it was a very fun trip! especially for little Alix. we went to the ocean last summer, but she was too small to really play or enjoy it much. this year she fell in love with the sand! her very first time using a shovel and pail she was using it like a pro! she loved having so many cousins around to play with. she could have spent all day outside in the sand with the other kids!
at low tide one day we went down to the tide pools. we saw some starfish, some anemones, and some big and little mussels. alix was more interested in the sand of course. there were horseback rides on the beach. alix loves horses so she loved watching them go by. and she enjoyed watching the waves coming in too.
and of course she loved walking on the beach with her two favorite people in the world! grandpa and Daddy
alix had a blast running on the beach!
this is my favorite pic i took of her the whole trip! she found a sand dollar and was using it as a shovel. she and her cousin Efram were playing together putting sand on a big log on the beach.
she absolutely loved digging in the sand! and had a blast playing with her cousins!
on the last night we were there i went out to play with the zoom and panoramic features on my camera and to take some sunset pics over haystack rock. it was beautiful
