cloth diapering

about 6 weeks ago we decided to switch Alix from disposable to cloth diapers. it's been a learning process, but the money savings that will come from not having to buy diapers every few weeks will be pretty awesome. and some of the diapers are adorable!

here's Alix with the first diapers we got in the mail! plain boring colors, but in the end all they're for is catching poo ;)

i know what you're thinking... "ew, you wash the dirty diapers?" and my answer is... YES I DO! it's not that bad. we use liners that can be flushed for solids and a pre-rinse before washing makes sure i'm not washing them in pee. these aren't your mama's old fashion cloth diapers!

Alix in the snow!

we got some snow here in western WA-- not much, but enough to play in a little bit... so i decided to take Alix out for her first experience in snow!! she didn't like how cold it was outside so as soon as we walked out the door she started crying, but we managed to get a few pics... so here they are :) enjoy!
p.s. she loved being dressed in her teddy bear snow outfit! when we were inside she kept saying "rawr" lol

11 months old!!!

so our baby is already 11 months old!! she's gonna be a year old in 24 days!! i cant believe how fast this time has gone by! next month there will be a 12 month tribute to Alix Marie for you all to look forward to, but for now just enjoy these awesome 11 month pics!














ps i'm getting a better camera soon so her one year old pics will be super awesome!
